All fees include the 50¢ AKC Recording Fee and $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee on the first entry of a dog and a $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single entry classes. Rally Trial will have a $3.00 AKC Recording Fee on each entry of a dog. (There is no recording fee or event service fee for sweepstakes, futurities, brace/team, multi-dog classes, or special attractions.)

THIS IS A "SELF-CLEANING" SHOW. EXHIBITORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING UP AFTER THEIR DOGS.
EXERCISE AREAS WILL BE CLEARLY MARKED. PLEASE USE ONLY THOSE AREAS.
A BATHING STATION WILL BE AVAILABLE . DO NOT USE ROOM BATHTUBS FOR THAT PURPOSE. NECESSARY PLUMBING REPAIRS CAUSED BY DOG HAIR WILL BE CHARGED TO THE EXHIBITOR IN THAT ROOM.
THE POOL AREA, LOBBY, RESTAURANTS AND OTHER MARKED AREAS ARE OFF LIMITS TO DOGS.
No more than 4 dogs per room. Dogs must be crated at all times while unattended in rooms. Room limits and crating will be strictly
enforced.
There will be no overnight crating allowed in the "day crating" area. Please see that all crates are placed over the plastic sheeting pro vided at check-in to protect the carpet in the room. As rooms will be cleaned daily by the Hotel Staff, any damage reported to the Hotel Management will be reported to the Show Committee. The Show Com mittee will be contacted by the Hotel Managers to help rectify complaints by the Hotel and its guests. Exhibitors will be held finan cially responsible for any damage to the Hotel property and are subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the Rules of the American Kennel Club.
EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE
Exhibitors should follow their Veterinarians' recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations.
"Dogs found in an unsafe environment, distress or harm's way (for example: left unattended on a grooming table in a noose not attached to a safety release clip; left in a vehicle without proper ventilation) will be removed to safety. Exposing a dog to an unsafe environment, distress or harm's way is considered mistreatment."
GSPCA RUNNING RULES: No dog may be entered to a judge if, within the prior year, the
owner or co-owner also co-owns any dog with that judge.

NEW TITLE ROSETTE
A Multi-Colored Rosette will be given to any dog that completes a New Title in one of
the events either at or associated with the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America
National Specialty.

NON REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES
As the judge's decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, none of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes.
Stud Dog Class-For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the Regular or Non-Regular Classes or if a Champion of Record, for Best of Breed/Variety Competition or may be entered for Stud Dog Class only at the regular entry fee. The Get MUST be entered in one of the Regular or Non-Regular Classes. The Stud Dog unit shall be considered as one entry and requires only one entry fee. The Stud Dog must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and shown in the ring with his Get. Get only to be judged on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy or the standard for the Breed. Fee is $35.00 for the Stud Dog if not entered in another class; $25.00 as an additional entry.
Brood Bitch Class-Same as Stud Dog Class except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get.

The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc., National Show Futurity will be held each year in conjunction with the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc., National Specialty Show.
Eligibility: Puppies whelped between October 1, 2006 and September 30, 2007 will be eligible for the 2008 Futurity. A breeder or co-breeders of litters nominated for the Show Futurity must be a Member of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc. An owner or co-owners of individual dogs or bitches that compete in the Show Futurity must be a Member of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc. If the ownership changes prior to the Futurity, the dog will remain eligible provided the new owner is a Member or applies for a Membership in the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc. The Futurity Chairman must be notified within 10 days of any change of ownership.
Nomination: Bitches must be nominated within 56 days (8 weeks) of whelping and a fee of $20.00 must accompany the nomination. Any nominations postmarked later than 56 days from whelping will be considered late. Litters may be nominated after the 56th day, with an additional $50.00 penalty payment ($70.00 total). No nominations will be accepted if postmarked later than 112 days (16 weeks) after whelping.
Junior Class: For dogs whelped on or after June 1 through September 30. Dogs and Bitches will be judged separately.
Intermediate Class: For dogs whelped on or after February 1 through May 31. Dogs and Bitches will be judged separately.
Senior Class: For dogs whelped on or after October 1, through January 31. Dogs and Bitches will be judged separately.
Payments of Forfeits: Three forfeits must be paid as follows: First forfeit of $15.00 must be received by December 31,; Second forfeit of $15.00 must be received by February 28 (29),; Third forfeit of $15.00 (to count as entry fee) must be received by the closing date of the National Specialty Show entries. Any forfeits, with the exception of the third forfeit, will be accepted if postmarked up to 21 days late and accompanied by a penalty payment of an additional $15.00. Late forfeits postmarked after the 21st day or forfeits without proper payments will be returned. All forfeits will become the property of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc. DIVISION OF PRIZE MONEY
Actual Futurity expenses will be deducted from Futurity Money. The balance remaining will be divided as follows:
1 - The Best In Futurity & Best of Opposite Sex to Best In Futurity would continue to receive 12.5% of the Funds which will be further divided - 60% to the owner and 40% to the breeder.
2 - The Winner of each class will receive up to $300 or the total of the Funds available for that class if the Funds are less than $300.
3 - If the Funds available for each class are more than $600, the Winner will receive at least $300, or those Funds available according to the following allocation:
FIRST PLACE 50%
SECOND PLACE 25%
THIRD PLACE 15%
FOURTH PLACE 10%
4 - If the Funds available for each class allow for the Winner to receive $300, but are less than $600, the allocation of the Funds for placements second through fourth would be as follows:
SECOND PLACE 50% of the remaining funds
THIRD PLACE 32% of the remaining funds
FOURTH PLACE 18% of the remaining funds
5 - All Funds for each class will be further divided 60% to the owner and 40% to the breeder.

BEST IN FUTURITY-THE NATIONAL SHOW FUTURITY CHALLENGE TROPHY is a SP Fluted Champagne Cooler, featuring a Beaded Edge around the top and standing on a Square Pedestal Base. The piece is further mounted on a Walnut Base, with a suitable inscription on a brass plate. The name of each winner shall be inscribed on the brass plate on the base of the Challenge Trophy. The Show Futurity Challenge Trophy is offered by Straightaway Kennels, through the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc. for competition at the National Specialty Show. For permanent possession, the Show Futurity Challenge Trophy must be won three times by the same owner or breeder (or co-owner, co-breeder), but not necessarily with the same dog nor in consecutive shows. The National Show Futurity Challenge Trophy shall remain German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc. property between shows.

TOP 20 GALA & ART AUCTION - Friday, May 9, 2008
Top 20 Gala & Art Auction gathers together the top German Shorthaired Pointers in the country (based on the AKC statistical ranking of the previous year). It is separate from the AKC portion of the show; no points are awarded and no connection exists with AKC as to event status. However, the show site is still governed by AKC rules. This is an exhibition event only, supported by the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc. It is an evening gala with a portion of the proceeds from the art auction to benefit the German Shorthair Health & Welfare efforts. Judges & exhibitors are in black tie attire; spectators are encourage to dress in cocktail attire (no shorts or jeans). Entry fee per dog is $50.00 which includes a catalog for each exhibitor. This year's awards ceremony and dinner will be celebrated on Saturday evening, May 10, 2008. We have a real gala extravaganza planned for your entertainment to include a truly choreographed awards ceremony. Join us in a celebration of the past 25 years of the GSPCA Nationals looking back on many of the Historical moments in Shorthairs.
The Awards Banquet on Saturday night offers a delicious way to celebrate our successes, wind down after a busy week, and bid farewell to friends. Join one and all for a feast of Assorted Salads, a choice of Prime Rib of Beef Au Jus, Chicken Marsala, Potatoes Marie, California Medley, topped off with yummy Cheesecake with Strawberry Saut'e or Carmel Apple Pie. Coffee, Tea or Milk. Cost is $35.00 per person.
Awarded at Banquet to the Best of Breed Winner will be the Dual & Can. Ch. NMK's Brittania v. Sibelstein Memorial Trophy, Bronze German Shorthaired Pointer on Wooden Base offered by Friends of Brittania through German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc. For permanent possession, it must be won three times by the same owner not necessarily with the same dog nor at consecutive shows. Winner of the Top 20 Competition will be announced at the Banquet.
Following our awards presentation and dinner we will be entertained by the talented production company "Muzic in Motion". A Night filled with Dancing and Music for all Ages from 9:00-11:00 pm.
Cocktail Hour kicks off the evening and a Cash Bar will remain open for the duration of the evening throughout dinner offering a fine assortment of after dinner cordials and into our dance hour. The exact time will be posted at the Nationals.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
Sponsored by the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc. Those eligible to attend are anyone who has applied to AKC for his/her judging license, provisional judges and anyone who currently holds an AKC license to judge any AKC Breed in a conformation event. The study group will begin on Saturday morning with a seminar and a hands-on workshop followed by ringside mentoring during the Best of Breed Competition. Participation is limited to (25) twenty-five. The registration fee is $20.00 and registration will close April 16, 2008 on a first come, first serve basis. HERO FOR HEALTH GIFT BASKET RAFFLE
Your Club and its members can participate in the success of this very special raffle. Last year's event, our third, was a huge success, raising funds to add to the genetic research fund. Each Club is being asked to donate a basket filled with items based on a theme chosen by the Club. All baskets will be on display throughout the National Specialty Show. With their pretty bows, the shiny paper, and the goodies, the baskets always attract attention. Prior to Best of Breed, there will be a basket competition judged by a panel of independent judges. Categories to be judged are Best in Aesthetic Appeal, Best in Theme and Best in Geographic Representation. It's a great way for your Club to contribute and be remembered. Tickets will be sold throughout the National Specialty Show with the drawing at the conclusion of Best of Breed. Your Club's support is greatly appreciated. Be part of the Second German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America, Inc. National Specialty Show Mentoring Session! Your national juniors committee is committed to giving you the tools to make you the best possible steward of our breed, and that includes understanding handling and general German Shorthaired Pointer conformation and structure. We think one way we can help is to offer you one-on-one attention in one of the best places you'll ever have to "master" your German Shorthaired Pointer know-how; your National Specialty! Juniors will be paired with German Shorthaired Pointer people who understand Junior Showmanship demands AND who knows German Shorthaired Pointers. You'll watch several classes together at ringside and discuss what you're seeing in the ring. Participants must be between the ages of 9 and 18 and be interested in learning to show a German Shorthaired Pointer to the best of your ability! This seminar will not only give you the tools to fight anti-dog legislation in your back yard but will give you the history of the animal rights movement. The understanding of the AR agenda and history is essential in fighting this incremental fight. They are coming to your town soon! So be prepared with the knowledge Patti Strand will share in this important educational event. New revised book available.
Patti Strand, NAIA National Director- Patti is a recognized expert and consultant on contemporary animal issues, most notably responsible dog ownership and the animal rights movement. She often appears on radio and television and her articles on canine issues, animal welfare, public policy and animal rights have appeared in major US news publications and in trade, processional and scientific journals. Patti and her husband Rod co-authored The Hijacking of the Humane Movement: Animal Extremism in 1993, the first US book exposing the extremism of the animal rights movement. Patti has been a Dalmatian breed and enthusiast since 1969, is an approved AKC Judge and has been a member of the AKC Board of Directors since 1995. She holds a degree in political science from Portland State University.

Valerie is one of our breed's top professional handlers, who started in the sport with an impressive Junior Handling record. A non-competitive Parade of Junior Exhibitors to showcase our young German Shorthaired Pointer enthusiasts from ALL areas of the dog world, not just Junior Showmanship! To include those who are just outside of the traditional "Junior" age restriction, eligible ages are 8 to 20. Each participant will receive a personalized ROSETTE to commemorate participation and will also be listed in the program booklet. Each junior should submit a short write-up (50 words or less typed) for the program booklet and to be read as they exhibit or while they are introduced. Some examples of things to include in the biography are information about the dog and junior, competition achievements, support roles you fill at shows (grooming, assisting, etc.), school, future plans, or anything else you're proud of. Your exhibition can consist of things such as show ring skills, demonstrating a skill from obedience, agility, field, or other dog activity (equipment limited to dumbbells, scent articles, and comparably sized items, NO JUMPS, etc.) and should require no more than 2 minutes total. Please be sure to include the participant's name and the dog's name as you want it to appear in the booklet and on the Rosette. ENTRY FEE is $5.00 to help cover cost of materials. A non-competitive Parade of Show, Field, Obedience, Tracking and Agility Champions and Obedience, Rally, Agility, Tracking and Hunting Test Title Holders will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008. Each participant will receive a Rosette with the dog's name imprinted on it. If you are entering your dog in the Parade of Title Holders, PLEASE send all of the information included on an entry form and full particulars for each dog, together with a biography of pertinent information on each dog. LIMITED TO 75 WORDS OR LESS! Biographies over 75 words will be edited to 75 words. Biographies will not be read, but will be distributed in booklet form at the start of the Parade. Deadline to enter and for biographies to arrive is April 16, 2008. Biographies may be emailed to Patty. Entry fee is $15.00 per dog. Parade of Title Holders: There are three levels -- a Special Dual Champion Parade, a Parade for any dog with the new GSPCA Versatility Award and a Parade of Titleholders. If you are eligible for multiple categories, please select the category you would like to be in. If you choose the new GSPCA Versatility section, it will be checked against the official certificate list.

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS
A RECORDING FEE of 50¢, and a $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test. Agility will have a $3.00 AKC Recording Fee for the first entry & $3.00 for each additional entry per dog. Rally Trial will have a $3.00 AKC Recording Fee on each entry of a dog. These Fees are to be collected by the Show-Giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, a $3.00 AKC Event Service Fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single entry classes will be collected. (There is no recording fee or event service fee for sweepstakes, futurities, brace/team, multi-dog classes, or special attractions.)
IF, BECAUSE OF RIOTS, CIVIL DISTURBANCES, OR OTHER ACTS BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE MANAGEMENT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN OR TO COMPLETE THIS SHOW, NO REFUND OF ENTRY FEE WILL BE MADE. THE WELL BEING OF THE DOGS, EXHIBITORS AND SPECTATORS IS OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE, AND IN THE EVENT IT IS NECESSARY TO CANCEL OR STOP THE EVENT BEFORE COMPLETION, NO REFUND OF ENTRY FEE WILL BE MADE.
ENTRY FEES shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge or barred from competition by action of Show Committee. We will make every effort to find duplicate entries, but if entry is processed, NO REFUND SHALL BE MADE.
THE OWNER OR HANDLER of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at ringside when its class is to be judged. The Show-Giving Club and Superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system, or stewards or runners for the purpose of locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required.
ALL EXHIBITORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND THEIR DOGS!
ENTRY FORM changes, additions, corrections and cancellations MUST be received in writing or by telegram prior to the closing of entries, and MUST INCLUDE AKC NUMBER AND BREED OF DOG. Those received by telephone are NOT acceptable. SUBSTITUTIONS REQUIRE A NEW COMPLETED ENTRY FORM.
CANCELLATIONS MUST BE LEGIBLE AND MUST INCLUDE AKC NUMBER OR NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED!! A $1.00 ADMINISTRATIVE/PROCESSING FEE PER ENTRY WILL BE DEDUCTED.
NO ENTRY shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance.
NO ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED IN THE OFFICE OF ROY JONES DOG SHOWS, INC./SLEEPER, SUPT. IF IT IS RECEIVED AFTER 12:00 NOON ON THE PUBLISHED DAY OF CLOSING. ANY ENTRY RECEIVED AFTER 12:00 NOON ON THE PUBLISHED DAY OF CLOSING WILL BE RETURNED.
DUE TO THE LARGE VOLUME OF ENTRIES COMING IN AT THE LAST MINUTE, ANY ENTRY MISSING CRUCIAL INFORMATION OR ANY FAX ENTRY MISSING AUTHORIZATION FOR US TO USE YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR ENTRY FEES AND FAX FEES, MAY NOT BE CONTACTED AND WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.

The person accompanying the dog must show identification before the dog will be received.
THE SHOW-GIVING CLUB, the Show Superintendent, their Agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by the exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children not under the control of their parents or guardians.
ANYONE SMOKING IN THE RINGS will be responsible for any damage done to matting due to extinguishing smoking materials on them!
ONE CHECK IS SUFFICIENT for all entries enclosed. ALL CHECKS must have Show(s) & Breed(s) entered written on the face.

Along with the front and the back of each entry form, we need a cover letter stating that you authorize Roy Jones Dog Shows, Inc. to use your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express for the following entry fees and fax fees. Then you need to print the card number, expiration date, Cardholders name, address, daytime phone number. A written signature on the cover letter is required. This written authorization is required to process faxed entries. CARDHOLDERS WHOSE CHARGES ARE DECLINED BY THE BANK CARD AUTHORIZATION CENTER WILL NOT BE PROCESSED. CREDIT CARD RE-PROCESSING FEE IS $10.00. ALL entries, cancellations, etc., received by fax require show, breed, and AKC number.
